Giving business the business

About this time last year our website host gave us the business. We won’t say who they are but our lips certainly aren’t sealed – the old adage says a satisfied customer tells one person, a dissatisfied person tells everyone. What irked us? What micturated in our punch bowl? It was waking up one day and discovering that our website provider had lost 10 years of articles and pictures.

Fortunately we have more than just a few nerd friends. A “friend of a friend” (isn’t it always) had that sort of job in IT that meant he really would have to kill us if he talked about it. This person told us that most of what we had done was backed up on a website that archived the internet…the whole proverbial enchilada. The whole internet. Still it had us seeing red. As for me I simply through up my hands and threw in the towel. That was it for writing for me. A few weeks ago a friend of mine got me interested in writing again. It seemed like such a daunting task – getting started writing again. Once you are in a rut you are in good and deep. As for me it takes a team of Shirpa guides a week to get me to climb my way out.

But here I am. Oh we kept in the swing of things getting the show out (just not as often as we like). We had more than a few big name companies try and take us for a not so pleasant ride, including one insurance provider who stole 10 grand from us (which our bank generously covered)

So this will lead us to our next post we will call “How to Survive Business”
